Paralegal, Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions
DSMA (Dealer Solutions Mergers and Acquisitions) is the premier Automotive M&A firm in North America, covering all of the United States and Canada. Due to continued and significant company growth, DSMA is recruiting an experienced individual to join the Essential Services team in the Legal Department.
The Paralegal, Mergers and Acquisitions is a member of the Essential Services (Legal) department and reports to the General Counsel. The role of the position is to support the General Counsel in all matters related to corporate governance and assist the M&A associates in drafting and preparing documents. The position requires work from either the Montreal or Markham office and may require up to 5% travel throughout Canada and USA. The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

How will you contribute to the North American Legal Team?
Review a wide variety of contract documents, including services agreements, terms and conditions and confidentiality agreements.
Support the sales team in drafting agreements.
Support on a variety of internal projects, including preparing and delivering training, updating precedent documents, case law updates and bulletins.
Provide support to the General Counsel and Executive Team.
Assist in training programs to introduce legal documents to the sales team and the organization.
Support our desire to modernize the legal team, by using technology and working with key performance data and metrics.
Assist with employment-related matters.
Assist with maintaining general corporate information, including updating corporate summary reports, corporate records, and corporate structure charts.

Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
Paralegal degree or diploma
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a paralegal
Previous experience working in a legal or commercial setting
Strong experience and aptitude in working with all Microsoft Office applications is a must (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Strong skills and interest in the analysis and revision of legal documents
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, follow-through, organizational and time management skills
Team player and demonstrated ability to work and adapt in a cross-disciplinary department, and ability to work independently.
